Snow falls in Jumla

Jumla – Jumla has officially begun with the first snowfall of the season, which was delayed until Tuesday morning. The snowfall has covered the entire district, including the headquarters, and has accumulated to about half a foot so far.

Farmers in the area are particularly excited about the snowfall, as it acts as a natural irrigation for their winter crops such as barley and wheat. These crops had started to dry up due to lack of rain, but the snowfall will now make it easier to grow them. Dhanrashi Bhandari, a farmer from Chandannath Municipality 8, stated, “We were waiting for the snow, and now it will be easy for our winter crops.”

The temperature in Jumla is also getting extremely cold, with the Department of Water and Meteorology Field Office Jumla reporting a temperature of minus 1.4 degrees Celsius. Without the snow, the temperature was even colder, reaching minus 7 degrees three days ago.

The snowfall in Jumla marks the start of the winter season and brings hope for the local farmers as they prepare for the cultivation of winter crops. It also serves as a reminder for residents to take necessary precautions and stay warm as the temperature continues to drop.
