Kathmandu, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) has announced to donate his organs after death.

Speaking at a function organised to celebrate the 1000th successful kidney transplant by the Human Organ Transplant Centre under the government of Nepal on Friday morning, Dahal said, “I would like to announce that I will donate my entire body following my death.”

Prachanda hoped his announcement would inspire the country.

On the occasion, Prachanda also appreciated the role of the transplant centre in helping the country’s poor population get their kidney transplants.

“The centre also facilitates liver transplants,” he said, “But, we also need to make it more modern and effective.”
