Essential govt offices to run on public holidays

The government has decided to open essential government offices even on public holidays to ensure service delivery to the public.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held February 23 took a decision to this effect, government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said.

However, the government is yet to release the details of the public holidays when the government offices would remain open for public service delivery. The issue would be finalized from the administrative committee of the Council of Ministers.

Minister Sharma said that name of such offices to remain open and the holidays would be announced soon.

After the announcement, such offices shall remain open even in the public holidays.
